Juan Carlos Costa Sawczuk

ree

From a very young age, Juan Carlos was a passenger on the Asas de Socorro airplanes, as his parents were missionaries. At the beginning of their ministry journey, the family used to travel about 12 days by boat to reach the village where they served. After an accident that resulted in the loss of almost all their cargo, they decided to make the trip by plane — which profoundly transformed the family’s routine.

It was in this context of coming and going between the city and the village that Juan was born and raised. Over the years, his interest in missionary aviation grew stronger, along with a deepening awareness of God’s calling on his life.

In 2023, he took an important step by applying to become a missionary with Asas de Socorro. His goal is to become a pilot and aircraft mechanic, serving people who live in hard-to-reach areas, like those among whom he grew up. Currently, Juan lives and studies in Anápolis, Goiás, dedicating himself to the training necessary to fulfill the mission the Lord has entrusted to him.
